Streaming, in particular its paid part, allowed the French market for recorded music to stabilize in 2020, at 781 million euros in tax-free revenues, according to the SNEP (National Union of Phonographic Publishing) .

Indeed, while the health crisis has turned the lives of French music lovers and the rest of the population upside down, digital incomes, of which they now represent the overwhelming majority, climbed 18% last year, to 474 million. euros. They offset the 20% drop in physical sales, to 184 million, due to the closure of stores, as well as the 19% drop in neighboring rights linked in particular to the closure of public places with sound (bars, clubs, etc.), to 101 million.
